Toronto Pillow Fight 2012

Yonge and Dundas Square was the scene on Saturday for the 7th annual Toronto edition of what has become a worldwide Pillow Fight Day. This was the second year that the melee took place after dark, which did anything but dampen the level of enthusiasm of the participants.

Although there were fewer costumes present than in the past, a good portion of the crowd did have the requisite bunny ears — they didn't last long once the pillows started flying — and Toronto Batman even put in an appearance before the festivities got under way in earnest.

The combined efforts of Newmindspace and Improv in Toronto made for a somewhat larger crowd this year. And while everyone was for the most part well behaved, Yonge Dundas Square security did call in police in the end to help them remove some overly keen brawlers who overstayed their welcome. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining evening of quirky fun that bodes well for future collaborations between these two groups.
