On Saturday night, the snow storm didn't stop party goers from seeing one of the most-loved techno producers out there.

The man in question was Alex Smoke, a Scottish DJ/Producer based in Glasgow. He has been one of my favorites for a while now. He creates warm, textured, minimal sounds that reach into your soul and makes dance floors move all around the globe. So when I found out that he was going to be making his Canadian debut, I wasn't going to let a snow storm get in my way.

Walking into Cerveceria (842 college), freezing and wet, I was warmly welcomed by the beats of Noah Pred (Fukhouse COMPRESSED) who kept people moving and got everyone's muscles ready for the main headliner.

As soon as Alex took control over the decks (a.k.a laptop), the crowd went wild turning the room into a sweaty steam dancing machine.

The beats kept pounding for a long time until poor Alex, drained from exhaustion, had to stop. But the crowd let him hear their appreciation with an extended chorus of applause.

It's great to see Toronto getting better and better when it comes to shows like this one, and it's thanks to the great promoters of this city (in this caseBreak & Enter) that will make 2008 a great year.
