Open House TIFF

Free concert series coming for TIFF 2013

While TIFF's focus is obviously on cinema, over the years the festival has made a point of including a musical component, be that in the form of its Focus on Music series or the Festival Music House, a series of concerts for media types and industry insiders. The latter of these two typically features a strong lineup of buzz worthy Canadian bands, but doesn't do much for the general public on account of its invite-only status. This year, however, there's a new option — one that's open to the public (so long as you're of drinking age).

Located at John and Pearl streets, the Grolsch Open House will play host to a variety of performances and installations over the festival's opening weekend (Sep 6-9). Musical guests include Beliefs, Holy Family, Grounders, Choir! Choir! Choir!, and Brendan Canning, who seems to get tapped whenever the words Toronto and music are uttered in the same breath.

There will also be food trucks to help fuel hungry festival goers. Oh, and word is Ryan Gosling's going to be there. Because Ryan Gosling's going to be everywhere. Check out the full lineup here.
