Sash and Bustle

Sash and Bustle is a chic wedding dress shop that newly renovated their store at 111 Berkeley Street.

The Moss Park neighbourhood has a special meaning to owners Vanessa and Andrea Dineen, whose grandparents had a business on Queen Street East.

sash and bustle torontoFast-forward to 2014 when Vanessa and Andrea opened Sash and Bustle's first location on Carlaw Street which was only 600 square feet. They next moved to a 1800 square feet space at Queen and Broadview.

sash and bustle torontoThe recent move to 111 Berkeley Street gave the sisters the opportunity to build their dream store during the pandemic before it went through full renovations to re-open in March 2021.

sash and bustle torontoThe new space consists of two levels. On the first floor you'll find two separate sections with showrooms for their dress inventory which includes over 20 different designers from around the world.

sash and bustle torontoThe sprawling display rooms include neighbouring shelves with gifts for bridesmaids, intricate bridal jewellery and hair pieces.

sash and bustle torontoIn the back area of the lower level is the first private fitting room that is wheelchair accessible. The room is a replica of their former Queen Street store that utilizes the same furniture and cubic wall art.

sash and bustle torontoThe other five fitting rooms are located upstairs. Soon-to-be brides can choose from two different types of experiences with a stylist at the store.

sash and bustle torontoThe sweet and simple appointment lasts for about 75 minutes. You meet with a stylist who goes over your basic needs of what you're looking for in a wedding dress.

sash and bustle torontoThere's also the luxe appointment where brides have around two and a half hours fitting that comes with a charcuterie tower and bubbly while they try on their dresses in front of family and friends.

sash and bustle torontoThere's a rack beside the second receptionist desk upstairs which also includes pre- and post-ceremony bridal outfits, like a white pantsuit or skirt set.

The dresses at Sash and Bustle mainly come from designers in Canada, Israel, Turkey, Australia and Eastern Europe. The prices range anywhere between $2000 to $7000.

sash and bustle torontoThe philosophy at this store is all about giving access to luxury items and making them affordable for the modern bride.

sash and bustle torontoThe "Scout" dress ($3500) in the Wtoo collection by Watters Design emulates the traditional ballgown look.

There are handmade flowers made out of horse hair tulle in the shape of roses that decorate the skirt of this dress.
