Electric Jon at Dementia 5

Dementia 5 Celebrates One Year in Toronto

I've written a lot about spoken word in the city before, but one event that I'm shocked I haven't mentioned is the Dementia 5 Multimedia Spoken Word series that blends performance poetry with music, film, and all sorts of craziness.

A monthly event that takes place at the Dominion Pub on Queen East, Dementia 5 assembles singers, rappers, poets, comedians, musicians and independent filmmakers in a night that is sure to be unconventional but extremely entertaining.

Hosted by Dave "Big Deal" Silverberg and Electric Jon, Dementia 5 is celebrating its first anniversary this Thursday at 8pm with an all open-mic show, followed by an after-party at a private gym. Yes, you read that right. So come out and get on a stage where almost anything goes; or, at least come support those people that will be on stage and celebrate one year of Dementia in Toronto.

More information available on the Dementia 5 event page on Facebook.
